mnemonic featured as a representative vendor in Gartner’s Market Guide for Digital Forensics and Incident Response Services

Gartner has recently published a new research report entitled Market Guide for Digital Forensics and Incident Response Services. The report recognises mnemonic as a Notable Vendor of incident response services.

Gartner’s research emphasises the need for organisations to be proactive with incident response (IR) preparedness, and highlights that most organisations are currently still at a relatively reactive stage.

The report aims to provide security and risk management leaders with information to evaluate retainer-based service offerings supporting both proactive and reactive components to bolster their incident response.

In the report, Gartner recommends security and risk management leaders to:

  • Operate under the working assumption that they will have a security breach, the only factors being the timing, scope and response.
  • Ensure their own incident response plan can be supported by their IR service provider. An IR retainer is not a replacement for establishing policies and procedures for handling incidents within the organization.
  • Choose an IR provider that can provide potential evidence for a forensic case and understands legal hold processes in their jurisdiction.
  • Buyers should ensure that the IR service offers forensic capabilities within the firm so the first responders are trained and have the knowledge to handle potential problematic incidents that can turn into deeper investigations.

mnemonic works with organisations before, during and after data breaches, cyberattacks and other security incidents.
