By now, it’s clear that threat actors in all sectors are taking advantage of the fear and demand for information caused by the COVID-19 crisis. This has resulted in new timely adapted threats, be it COVID-19 themed phishing attacks, fake coronavirus tracking apps, or nation state threat actors using cyber espionage to gain access to sensitive crisis response information.
From our SOC and threat intelligence research we see threat actors finding new ways to leverage COVID-19 and the consequences of the crisis. During the webinar, mnemonic’s Marie Moe will share some specific cases of how threat actors are taking advantage of COVID-19, and how this is impacting the current threat landscape and overall security posture. She will also discuss what measures can be taken to reduce these risks.
Marie Moe is a Senior Security Consultant in mnemonic's Threat Intelligence team, and has a PhD in information security. She has experience as a team leader at NorCERT, where she lead their incident handling of cyberattacks against Norway’s critical infrastructure. She is also an Associate Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, where she teaches the course “Incident Response, Ethical Hacking and Forensics”.
